Inquiseo is happy to launch today a blog dedicated to the exploration of the Organic. Welcome to “Curiouser!” Search engine optimization, Organic Search, and generative search optimization (GSO) are all going to be covered here. After all, the ever-changing Search landscape are fascinating and future-focused overall.

Why call it “Curiouser!” after all?

The quick answer: Because Search is getting curiouser—er, more curious!

You’re familiar with Alice’s adventure down the rabbit hole. Her exploration in Alice’s Adventure’s in Wonderland very famously got “curiouser and curiouser,” as she herself exclaimed. Lewis Carroll invented a word (or exaggerated an existing word) to illustrate his protagonist’s extreme state of mind—such surprise that she actually forgot to use “good English.” Since its appearance in 1857, the informal, non-word word has been used by reputable newspapers, respectable magazines, and literary sources of all kinds.

At Inquiseo, “Curiouser!” is the ideal name for this very blog. That is because the root of the name “Inquiseo” is the word “inquisitive.” I named my Organic Search consulting business for the simple equation of “inquisitive + search engine optimization = Inquiseo.” Being inquiring is what the act of searching is all about. Whenever you enter keywords into Google or Bing, or other search engines, you are being curious.

inquisitive

Yup, Inquiseo is intellectually curious about SEO. About GSO and other topics related to Organic Search too, of course.

Search is becoming stranger and more mysterious

Alice exclaimed that her journey was becoming “curiouser and curiouser” because it was becoming far more odd and bewildering than anything she had ever experienced. Those of us who have worked in SEO for decades can relate. We have become accustomed to Google’s unconfirmed, often-tumultuous algorithm updates. We have seen Organic results get demoted and pushed farther and farther down search results pages while ads, images, Knowledge Graph, and more ads have gained more and more prominence.

That was all before A.I. became A1. Artificial intelligence a la Gemini is now dominant at the top of most searches. It’s pulling more searchers into its vortex, much like potions Alice imbibed that caused her to shift shapes and sizes, keeping her guessing and questioning all of the unexpected curiosities.

Whether you work in SEO, have relied on Organic Search as a free traffic staple for your business, or are simply a frequent Googler (or “Binger”?), you have experienced the shake-up first-hand. You may not have played croquet with the Queen of Hearts or sipped tea with the Mad Hatter, but you know that Google search box to be akin to the Cheshire Cat’s big, wide grin, behind which its own particular riddles are now commonplace.
